Light

Visible light, or visible radiation, is the natural agent that stimulates sight, making the world around us perceptible. Yet, its effects extend beyond what the eye can see: it influences biological processes like circadian rhythms through variations in light color, triggers photochemical reactions on sensitive materials, generates heat upon absorption, and even alters the behavior of organisms that detect wavelengths beyond our visible spectrum. At the molecular level, light's interaction with matter can be profound, even if imperceptible. My projects inspired by meditations on light explore these unseen influences, reflecting on how light shapes both individual and collective experiences in ways that often remain hidden.

Transitions

Diptych photography series

An aperture is a hole or opening that controls how much light passes through a camera lens and into the camera. Transitions –the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another– explores the relationship between light and aperture, and how it impacts modes of seeing, connecting, and interpreting nature depending upon our perspective and access to light.
